Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a delegation to the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia. He held meetings with regional leaders to strengthen trade ties and discuss global trade issues leading up to the World Trade Organisation’s Ministerial Conference in 2024. Al Zeyoudi emphasized the UAE’s commitment to its Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with Indonesia and explored opportunities in agriculture, energy, logistics, tourism, and the Islamic economy. Similar discussions occurred with Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste. The UAE-ASEAN relationship, marked by a 2% increase in trade, was also emphasized.
