
(Aden) – Most international news agencies and mass media reported today the death of Yemen’s former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Sources from Yemen’s General People’s Congress confirmed that their leader Saleh was killed by Houthi militias in Sanaa.
Al-Ekhbariya Channel reported on its correspondent in Sanaa that the former Yemeni President had left before noon today for Sanhan town and died in fierce clashes between Houthi militias and his convoy.
Saleh was killed, Al Arabiya Channel reported on sources from Yemen’s General People’s Congress which is lead by the former Yemeni President. The sources added that Saleh was killed in clashes with Houthi militias in Sanhan, near the capital Sanaa, without giving further details.
Television networks broadcast pictures of President Saleh dead.
On its part, the German news agency Deutsche-Presse Agentur (DPA) reported that Yemen’s ex-President had been killed in clashes with Houthi militias in Sanaa, without giving further details.
The assassination came hours after militias from Yemen’s armed Houthi movement had blown up the house of Saleh in the center of the capital Sanaa after raiding and controlling it alongside other houses of Saleh’s relatives.
