(Abu Dhabi) – H.H. Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, has valued the developments related to the implementation of the humanitarian projects between the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, especially in relation to providing humanitarian support to the people affected by the Syrian crisis.
Welcoming a delegation from the Houses of Commons and Lords, headed by Alistair Burt, member of the House of Commons, in her office at the Ministry of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) in Abu Dhabi, she emphasised that the historic relationships between the two countries are very distinctive, deep-rooted and contribute to enhancing the partnership and joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields, particularly the joint efforts exerted to find solutions for the international development and humanitarian issues, in addition to exchange views and expertise.
The Houses of Commons and Lords visit aims to enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels. The delegation was escorted by Ahmed Al Mansouri, Member of the U.A.E. Federal National Council. During the meeting, Lubna Al Qasimi emphasised that the U.A.E. is looking forward to enhancing the bilateral mutual relationships in fields of international development and humanitarian responses, finding solutions to address the constraints of international development and increase the effectiveness of humanitarian organisations, in both countries, in responding to natural and manmade disasters around the world.
She also briefed the visiting delegation on the main efforts exerted by the U.A.E. in supporting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and active coordination with the global community in order to formalise the Development Goals Agenda post 2015.
