(Abu Dhabi) – President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed received UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed at the Bateen Palace, in the presence of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai.
President assigned Sheikh Mohammed to lead the UAE delegation to the GCC consultative summit that will begin in Riyadh. Sheikh Khalifa expressed hope that the summit with the participation of the GCC leaders will achieve the objectives the people of GCC states aspire, for furthering cooperation and harmony, and thus emphasising the role of GCC on the regional and international levels.
The President said that the periodic meetings and consultations of the GCC leaders had profound impact on the progress of the Council’s march adding that the forthcoming session under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia is a new and important step in strengthening the blessed march of the Gulf states.
