(Abu Dhabi) – H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, received Antonio Guterres, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, to discuss areas of joint cooperation as well as the status of refugees and displaced persons in the region and around the world.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed stressed the U.A.E.’s aspiration to expand its avenues of joint cooperation with UN-affiliated humanitarian organisations, which he said comes within the U.A.E.’s framework of being in the forefront of providing humanitarian aid and assistance in various countries around the world.
Sheikh Mansour also praised the UN on its international humanitarian efforts to help the displaced and refugees. Mr. Guterres took the opportunity to commend the high level of cooperation between the U.A.E. and UN humanitarian agencies.
