(New York) – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE, has met with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, on the sidelines of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.
They discussed ways of enhancing and promoting relations between the UAE and the UN through their humanitarian and developmental partnership, including exchange of experience.
Sheikh Abdullah and Mr Ban looked into views and political stances on developments of regional and international efforts to combat terrorism in the Middle East and North Africa, the situation in Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen, the political process concerning the Palestinian cause, the Middle East peace process, as well as other political issues.
Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State; and Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, attended the meeting which took place at the UN headquarters.
