(New York) – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of UAE received the Somali Prime Minister at the sidelines of 67th session of United Nations General Assembly Meeting. Both the leaders discussed the bilateral cooperation. Sheikh Abdullah expressed pleasure at positive developments of political process in Somalia and pledged continuous support of the UAE to new Somali government. For his part, the Somali PM thanked the UAE for its support, calling for more sustainable support to include investments in social sectors in Somalia.
The UAE Foreign Minister also met the Acting Ethiopian Foreign Minister, Berhane Gebre-Christos. They discussed ways to boost the bilateral relations.
Later, Sheikh Abdullah also met the Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Garcia. They discussed ways to boost the bilateral relations, especially in the areas of economy, investment and trade. Shaikh Abdullah and Garcia also exchanged views on issues in the UN agenda, notably, the Syrian standoff, the Palestinian issue and the Peace Process in the Middle East.
meeting was also held between UAE FM and Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, G.L. Peres during which the two leaders discussed the bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.
