(Manama) – Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi underlined the importance of preparing specialised radio and TV programmes on the history and glorious civilisation of Bahrain. He was speaking as he received Saudi media person Dr. Eid bin Hamad Al Yahya, the researcher at King Abdulaziz Centre for National Dialogue.
The Information Minister reviewed with Dr. Eid ways of boosting cooperation to produce a documentary on the history of Bahrain and its standing as a trade hub, a gateway between the East and West and a pioneering model of religious and inter-cultural tolerance and co-existence. He welcomed Dr. Eid Al Yahya, the producer and presenter of “On the Footsteps of the Arabs” which is broadcast by Al-Arabiya news channel, and his assistant Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mutlaq Al Harbi. He praised Dr. Eid’s outstanding books on the history of the Arabian Peninsula and Saudi Arabia, moderation, peace and dialogue, taking pride in the distinguished and deep-rooted fraternal ties binding Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Eid thanked the Information Minister for the meeting and support to the national and GCC competencies to avail of their experiences in developing media programmes.
