(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a decree appointing H.E. Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi as UAE’s first permanent representative to Irena. After the appointment, Dr Al Zeyoudi presented his credentials to the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) Director-General Adnan Amin at the agency’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
His appointment, the first for Irena, follows a landmark legislation in the UAE that allows the agency’s member countries to establish formal representation and assign permanent representatives in Abu Dhabi. Currently Irena has 119 member countries, with 44 in the process of joining.
