
(Abu Dhabi) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has visited the headquarters of Abu Dhabi’s renewable energy company, Masdar, in the capital.
During his visit His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of Masdar, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Ruler’s Court of Dubai, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Protocol and Hospitality.
Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation toured Masdar city’s various facilities and departments, beginning with an inspection of a large-scale model of Masdar City, which, after completion, is estimated to be going to cover a total area of about six square kilometres.
Sheikh Mohammed was also briefed by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber on renewable energy investment projects being implemented by Masdar, including those generated from solar energy and wind power in the UAE and other countries.
After signing the electronic VIP guest-book, Sheikh Mohammed visited Masdar Institute of Science and Technology where he was given a presentation on the research and studies provided by the institute, and the city’s future plans.
