PM Attends Annual Investors Conference

(Dubai) – The Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended the first session of the Fifth Annual Investors Conference held at Raffles Hotel, Dubai. The conference is organised by the Bank of America Merrill Lynch in collaboration with Falcon Dubai.
The session began with a brief word from Alexander Wilmot-Sitwell, President, Europe and Emerging Markets (excluding Asia) at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He welcomed the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and his sponsorship of the conference which is being attended by more than 180 Arab and foreign investors and around 30 global companies from 15 countries.
Sitwell expressed his delight to the participants for their presence in the UAE and to the organisers for arranging the annual conference in Dubai, which he described as the world’s shopping centre, an icon of safety and happiness for investors and their families from all over the world, and its residents and visitors.
H.E. Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State and Managing Director of the Higher Committee for Hosting the World Expo 2020, welcomed the participants and thanked them for selecting Dubai city for the second time to hold their conference. She referred to the two success stories in 1980s on construction of Jebel Ali Port, which has become one of the largest seaport. She added that the second story was setting up of Emirates Airline in 1985 based on the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, noting he had what he wanted.
