No more strains in US-Bahrain ties: Trump
(Riyadh) – US President Donald Trump said during a meeting with HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa that relations with Bahrain would grow stronger and would not be strained.
“Our countries have a wonderful relationship together, but there has been a little strain. There won’t be strain with this administration,” President Trump said.
“We’re going to have a very, very long-term relationship. I look forward to it very much – many of the same things in common.”
The meeting between HM King Hamad and President Trump took place on the second day of the historic visit by the US president to Saudi Arabia and ahead of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)- US summit ti discuss threats to security and stability in the region.
The summit is also looking into strengthening trade relations between the GCC and the US.
