(Manama) – Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh has met World Health Organisation (WHO)’s representative to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain, Ibrahim El-Zeeq.

The minister affirmed the importance of health promotion programmes, setting priorities for integration of efforts, charting all-encompassing health policy and monitoring contagious ailments in the region.

The minister also affirmed the ministry’s keenness on achievement of various preventative health initiatives to boost the health of the community and individuals as part of the ministry’s strategic health priorities in line with the National Health Plan (2016-2025) and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic Vision2030.

The WHO’s health programmes expert was visiting Bahrain to participate in the Healthy Cities Workshop held in association with the World Health Organisation. He said his visit will culminate in significantly positive effect and boosting health programmes to combat non-contagious diseases and furthering the coordination in this respect.
