(Manama) – The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has obtained the Quality Management System (QMS) Certificate ISO 9001 after passing the external audit conducted by Bureau Veritas Company on January 28-30.
On this occasion, Undersecretary of Commerce Affairs Nader Al Moayed said that the ministry has maintained its level in excellence in implementing the quality management system continuously and considered one of the leading government bodies in implementing Quality Management System Certificate ISO 9001. The ministry had been awarded its first certificate in 2002 and since then the ministry passes the external audit annually.
This achievement reflects Ministry’s interest and its keenness to work according to the international methodologies to achieve high efficiency and high service. The ministry has worked over the past two years to train its quality team on the new requirements of the standard and follow-up adjustments in operations and documentation required.
