(Abu Dhabi) – President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued a law establishing the Human Resources Authority of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The new law stipulates that the authority will be a corporate entity with full legal capacity and will report to the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Abu Dhabi Human Resources Authority will replace the Abu Dhabi Tawteen Council, the civil services sector and the Abu Dhabi government leadership centre at the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The Abu Dhabi Human Resources Authority specialises in drawing and developing the emirate’s general policies for human resources. It will also draft, develop and oversee the execution of strategies and plans for tawteen (Emiratisation) at government departments and companies upon approval by the Executive Council.
It may conduct and support specialised research and studies to develop human resources and government management.
The law stipulates that the new authority will approve and support plans for appointment in jobs and follow up these plans to ensure that they are in line with Emiratisation plans. The authority may issue recommendations to direct academic, vocational and technical learning and training programmes to fulfil the demands of the labour market in the emirate and serve the goals of Emiratisation.
