(New Delhi) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif meets Indian premier Narendra Modi in New Delhi for the much-anticipated bilateral meeting. Nawaz Sharif was warmly welcomed by Modi at the entrance of Hyderabad House. The two leaders shook hands and posed for cameras before the start of the meeting.
Nawaz was assisted by his advisers on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz, Tariq Fatemi and foreign secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry while the Indian premier was accompanied by India’s new Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The immediate expectation at both sides is that the meeting will eventually pave way for the resumption of stalled peace process between the two nuclear-armed countries.
