(Cairo) – Many key Arab personalities have agreed that His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was honoured and granted the Arab Development Work Shield by the Arab League well deservedly for his unmatched development achievements, and pioneering efforts to enhance Bahrain’s progress.

In statements on the sidelines of the grand ceremony held at the Arab League headquarters to bestow the Arab Development Work Shield upon HRH Premier, they asserted that through its choice of the Prime Minister to be first Arab leader to receive such an honouring, the Arab League is honouring the Kingdom of Bahrain for its leading role and the efforts of its leadership in the field of development work, as well as for its constant support to joint Arab action.

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, said that HRH Premier was honoured in tribute for innumerable contributions to developing his country and advancing joint Arab action.

He stressed that HRH Premier had contributed to modernising Bahrain in all fields, making it among developed countries and a major destination for global financial markets.

UN Habitat Regional Representative for Gulf States, Dr. Tarek El-Sheikh, stressed that conferring the prestigious award on HRH Premier is an honouring of outstanding development work in the kingdom, and the country’s unique cooperation with international institutions.

He affirmed that HRH Premier tops leaders who contributed to enriching develop work with international institutions, noting that his honouring is a token of appreciation of Bahrain for its leading role an role model to be emulated in development.

Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Arab National Security Affairs, Ambassador Khalil Al-Thawadi, said that the award bestowed on HRH Premier is an honouring of Bahrain and its leadership, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

It is also in tribute for the efforts exerted by HRH Premier to advance Bahrain, making it in the top.

Former Egypt’s Minister of People’s Assembly and the Shura Council Dr. Mofid Shehab, said that he was honoured by attending the honouring of HRH Premier at the Arab League premises, stressing that HRH Premier has enriched development work in the kingdom and brought about major achievements that contributed to modernising Bahrain in all fields.

He expressed appreciation to the kingdom’s leadership, government and people, lauding the milestone achievements of the Al-Khalifa Family, citing the contributions of the late Amir, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the current era of HM King Hamad.

Former Egyptian Foreign Minister and member of the Foreign Relations at the House of Representatives, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Arabi, affirmed that the Arab League is honouring the kingdom of Bahrain through conferring the Arab Development Work Shield on HRH Premier.

He expressed appreciation to HRH Premier for his milestone development achievements that contributed to placing Bahrain among leading countries in various fields, under HM the King’s leadership.

Dr. Omar Hassan, Head of the Gulf Centre for Strategic Studies, and author of the “Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa: A Leader who Created History” book highlighted the Prime Minister’s dedication in the service of his country in various fields, especially education.

He affirmed that his book is token of gratitude to HRH Premier and a reference to be used by the coming generations.
