(Manama) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current session chairman of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), at Safriya Palace received GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.

The GCC Secretary-General gave a brief on the achievements and progress in the GCC march and the implementation of the resolutions issued at the 37th GCC Summit held in current December in Bahrain.

HM the King praised the 37th GCC Summit’s fruitful outcomes aimed at promoting the blessed GCC march to bring more achievements and gains to meet the aspirations of the Gulf people toward stronger unitedness an integration in line with the unity of purpose and common destiny.

HM the King hailed the Gulf leaders’ efforts that made the Sakhir Summit successful, pointing out the GCC’s comprehensive achievements at political, economic, development, security and military levels.

He lauded the GCC Secretariat’s efforts in reinforcing cooperation and complementarity among the Gulf states to attain further achievements in various areas.

In a statement following the meeting, GCC Secretary-General said that he listened to HM the King’s directives on ways to boost the march of the joint GCC-Arab action to reach the GCC’s set goals.

He highlighted HM the King’s keenness on following up the implementation of the 37th GCC Summit’s resolutions.
