
(Manama) – Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi received Oxford Business Group (OBG) regional director Clémentine Clabault and editorial manager Charles Kissick and updated them about the public and private education.
He outlined Bahrain’s strides in establishing eco-friendly smart schools as well as the efforts to integrate children with special needs and hone the skills of gifted students, highlighting the country’s success in eradicating illiteracy, an addition to plans to root out IT illiteracy.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi briefed the OBG officials on the ministry’s efforts to consolidate the values of citizenship, loyalty and belong to the Arab and Islamic identity of Bahrain, and foster the culture of tolerance, co-existence, national unity, renunciation of violence and bigotry through textbooks and extra-curricular activities.
The OBG officials were also briefed about His Majesty’s Future School project, the inclusion of 17 intermediate schools in the digital empowerment network, in addition to the national education and training project and the establishment of the Teachers’ College, Bahrain Polytechnic and the National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training (QQA).
