Customs Affairs strategy in tune with Economic Vision 2030

(Manama) – Clearing and Customs Inspection Acting Director General Brigadier Abdullah Hamad Al Kubaisi stressed that the strategy of the Customs Affairs for the years 2017-2020, which was inaugurated is in tune with the Economic Vision 2030 and the government’s action plan.
Speaking at the “Al-Amn” talk programme, co-presented by the Interior Ministry’s Security Media Directorate and Bahrain Radio, he said the strategy is based on a three-pronged scheme including restructuring of the Customs Affairs, achieving self-sufficiency concerning financial and technological resources and boosting partnership with companies to increase revenues and reduce risks.
Regarding teh main measures adopted by the Customs Affairs to promote the security level, Brigadier Al Kubaisi revealed that the Customs Affairs has trained its personnel to boots their competence and provide cutting-edge technological devices. He added 1000 confiscations at air, land and maritime exits were registered in 2016 and the problem of trucks tailback was tackled by expediting procedures.
