Crown Prince meets UK parliamentary delegation
(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, received a parliamentary delegation from the United Kingdom, led by Member of Parliament and House of Commons Defence Committee member, Leo Docherty MP, at Riffa Palace.
The Crown Prince highlighted that Bahrain and the UK have held deep-rooted and strong links for over two hundred years
The Crown Prince also highlighted that, during this time, Bahrain and the UK have developed shared interests across a wide range of economic, cultural, political and defence-related issues
The Crown Prince also recognised the active role of the UK Government in supporting the global fight against terrorism and preventing its illicit funding
The Crown Prince stressed that the Kingdom welcomes the development of closer ties with the UK and western allies, and is committed to further enhancing its relations to protect security and stability across the region and globally
His Excellency Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
