(Sharjah) – H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the opening of the Second International Sharjah Conference on New trends in Learning and Teaching Arabic Language at the University of Sharjah.
Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Professor Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, delivered the opening speech in which he thanked Sheikh Sultan for attending and sponsoring the event.
He noted that social networking sites contribute to endangering standard Arabic and the culture and character of Arab and Islamic young generations.
Later, Sheikh Sultan honoured the winners of an Arabic language competition organised by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
