Bahrain-US cooperation praised
(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa praised historic relations of friendship and cooperation between Bahrain and the USA and their growth mainly in the military and defence field. He was speaking as he received at his palace in Riffa, the US Ambassador to Bahrain William Roebuck and outgoing Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command and Fifth Fleet Admiral Kiven M.Donegan who introduced to him Admiral Jhon Aquilino , the new Commander.
HRH the Premier lauded contributions of Admiral Kiven M.Donegan to boosting bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, congratulating Admiral Jhon Aquilino on his appointment and wishing him every success. He emphasised the need to boost international cooperation to promote regional and international peace and stability. “What we are concerned about is providing a better future for the region so as to go ahead with development and building and achieve a stable and secure life,” HRH the Prime Minister said, underlining the importance of relations between Bahrain and the USA which are based on mutual respect and cooperation.
HRH the Premier affirmed keenness to bolster bilateral cooperation for the common interest of both countries and peoples. He reviewed with the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command the overall regional situation and the efforts made to boost security and stability, stressing the importance to foster regional and global stability through concerted efforts.
On his part, the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command hailed keenness of the Bahraini government to promote bilateral cooperation, stressing outstanding relations between both countries.
