
(Geneva) – Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s election as a regular member at the Governing Body of the International Labour (ILO) Office for the period 2017–20 with the Government Group.
The ILO governments group was elected at the United Nations Geneva-based premises during the ILO’s 106th Session on June 4-16.
The Kingdom’s achievement reflects the growing trust in and status of Bahrain internationally a as well as the recognition and appreciation by the ILO member states of Bahrain’s efforts and successful achievements in the field of labour reforms, workers’ gains and development of national labour-related legislation in accordance with international standards.
The achievement also reflects the leadership’s support to employers and employees and enhanced social dialogue between the three parties of production, namely the government, employers and employees.
