Bahrain celebrates May Day

(Manama) – The General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU) celebrated the International Workers’ Day, which falls annually on May 1.

Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan attended the ceremony and conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, stressing royal tribute to the national workforce for their dedication in serving their country towards more national achievements.

He paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa who congratulated – during the Cabinet meeting – Bahrain workers on May Day and commended their crucial role in pushing the march of development and progress forward.

He expressed delight at attending the ceremony on behalf of HM the King, lauding the pioneering role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad AlKhalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier in reforming the labour market and supporting efforts to create jobs, optimize investment opportunities and achieve sustainable development.
