Bahrain celebrates 46th National Day

(Manama) – World leaders joined the Kingdom in celebrating the anniversary of its establishment as an Arab and Muslim country in 1783 by its founder Ahmed Al-Fateh, the 46th Anniversary of its accession to the UN as a full member and the 18th Anniversary of HM the King’s Accession to the Throne.

They extended heartfelt congratulations to HM the King, wishing him many happy returns and lauded the landmark achievements attained by the Kingdom under HM King’s leadership.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier also received similar congratulatory cables.

US President Donald Trump, in a statement to HM King, wished him abundant health and happiness, and further progress and prosperity to Bahrain and its people. Similar cables of congratulations were sent by Russian President, Vladimir Putin, Her Majesty Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and by the leaders of Arab, Islamic and friendly countries.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa also received cables of congratulations from senior members of the Royal Family, Council of Representatives Speaker, Shura Council Chairman, ministers, senior officials, MPs, Shura Council members, dignitaries, governors, municipal councillors, Bahrain’s ambassador abroad, heads of diplomatic missions in Bahrain, heads of sport associations, federations and clubs, as well as the citizens marking Kingdom’s celebrations.

His Majesty exchanged cables of congratulations with Prime Minister, the Crown Prince, and with Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). HRH the Premier and HRH the Crown Prince also exchanged similar cables of congratulations on these national occasions.

Celebrations were also organised at Bahrain’s embassies all over the world. In Kuwait, Kuwaiti Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah took part in the activities organised by Bahrain’s Ambassador Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

In France, Ambassador Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, Cultural Advisor Shaikha Wafa bint Abdulla Al-Khalifa hosted a lunch banquet for Bahraini students.

Meanwhile, in a message marking the occasion, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Hesham bin Mohammed Al Jowder said, “We look at Bahrain’s future with hope in light of the farsighted vision of HM the King which will make Bahrain more advanced and prosperous in various fields as well as boost its regional and international status.”
