(Manama) – Winners of the 2nd Arab Reading Challenge – Bahrain Chapter were honoured under the patronage of Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi.

The ceremony was attended by Arab Reading Challenge Secretary-General Najla Al-Shamsi and UAE Embassy Charge d’Affaires Said Al-Kotbi.

A number of Education Ministry officials, Arab Reading Challenge team members, students’ parents, participating school principals and teachers supervising students were also present.

Dr. Al-Nuaimi hailed initiative which was launched by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum to encourage millions of Arab children to read and arm themselves with knowledge.

The Arab Reading Challenge qualifications in Bahrain attracted more than 24,000 students representing 258 schools, up from more than 18,000 participants last year.
