FNC Passes Dh46b Budget for 2014

(Abu Dhabi) – The Federal National Council (FNC) has reviewed and passed a social development oriented federal budget of more than Dh46 billion. The council passed the 2014 budget after a heated-debate in the presence of H.E. Ubaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs. The Minister and team, however, came under attack from members for the delay in presenting the budget to the council for its review.
Responding to the members’ queries, the Minister said the delay was caused due to the government taking all recommendations of the council into account and finding allocations to implement them.
