The Brit Awards have been handed out in London, honouring the biggest and best music artists of the past 12 months. Here is the full list of contenders, with winners in bold. British male solo artist went to; Calvin Harris, Plan B, Richard Hawley, Ben Howard, Olly Murs. British female solo artist was given to; Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, Bat For Lashes, Jessie Ware, Emeli Sande. British breakthrough act was taken by Jake Bugg, Jessie Ware, Alt-J, Ben Howard, Rita Ora.
British group awards winners remained Mumford and Sons, Alt-J, The xx, Muse and One Direction. British single awards went to Adele – Skyfall, Alex Clare – Too Close, Coldplay featuring Rihanna – Princess Of China, DJ Fresh featuring Rita Ora – Hot Right Now, Emeli Sande – Next To Me, Florence + The Machine – Spectrum (Say My Name), James Arthur – Impossible, Jessie J – Domino, Labrinth featuring Emeli Sande – Beneath Your Beautiful, Olly Murs featuring Flo Rida – Troublemaker whereas, British album of the year was taken by Emeli Sande – Our Version of Events, Plan B – Ill Manors, Alt-J – An Awesome Wave, Paloma Faith – Fall To Grace and Mumford and Sons – Babel.
