(Dubai) – Nineteen new judges, including eight Emiratis and four judicial inspectors, at the Dubai Courts were sworn-in before Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at Zabeel Palace.
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai attended the swearing-in ceremony.
The judges took oath before Sheikh Mohammed, and vowed to uphold justice, respect the law, perform their duties with integrity and devotion, and remain committed to honest practices as judges.
The Ruler of Dubai gave directives to the new judges to abide by the values of impartiality and integrity, work under the cloak of the law and of the legal profession, away from any bias, and grant everyone their rights.
Sheikh Mohammed stressed that no one is above the law, all are equal in the eyes of the law, and there can be no difference between rich and poor.
The ceremony was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Essam Issa Al Humaidan, Attorney-General of the Emirate of Dubai, Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai, and a number of officials.
