UAE, Kazakhstan parliamentary relations discussed

(Abu Dhabi) – Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), discussed with Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE Kairat Lama Sharif how they might enhance cooperation and bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.
The meeting, held in FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, also included discussions on expanding parliamentary ties between FNC and the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with its two houses.
Additionally, the Kazakh ambassador congratulated Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi on her election as FNC Speaker, the first UAE and Arab woman to assume this post, lauding the support given to Emirati women and their effective participation in all walks of life, which has enhanced the international stature of the UAE.
He also said that Emirati women’s assuming leadership posts is a source of pride for them and embodies leadership and society’s confidence in their capabilities.
Dr. Al Qubaisi extended thanks to the Kazakh diplomat and extended an official invitation to the Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to visit the UAE to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the parliamentary domain, as well as in various political, economic and cultural fields.
She also emphasised the importance of establishing a parliamentary friendship committee between the two councils to develop existing ties and enhance parliamentary relations, as well as to review the two countries’ expertise through bilateral visits, which would contribute to coordinating visions and views on various issues during participation in international parliamentary events.
Al Qubaisi confirmed that the UAE has strong and distinguished relations with Kazakhstan through trade initiatives and economic and investment cooperation, stressing the importance of boosting ties through investment in various fields, in light of the available natural and industrial potentials in the two countries and their attractive investment atmospheres, as well as their geographic locations among various continents.
She added that in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE is keen to develop cooperation with fraternal and friendly countries and extend investment, economic and trade cooperation for the advantage of the UAE and these countries.
During the meeting, they focused on the importance of enhancing ties, encouraging businesspersons and companies, and briefing them on the attractive potentials of the two countries, pointing to the pioneering model of cooperation between the two countries, as represented in the UAE real estate project “Abu Dhabi Plaza”, built in the heart of the Kazakhstan capital Astana.
Also during their meeting, the Kazakh ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation of the UAE’s supportive stances towards his country, especially in the development and humanitarian assistance fields, stressing that the two countries enjoy distinguished relations, which are viewed as role models for the international community. He added that there are official visits and cooperation between the two countries, as well as desires to develop procedures and the provision of facilitations related to encouraging Emirati investors to join Kazakh markets.
