Sheikh Abdullah with Jang FuAbu Dhabi, Dec 28 – The two-day seminar on the fourth session of the cultural dialogue between China and the Arab countries is being held in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs warmly welcomed the delegates from China and Arab countries and said, “We are very much honored and thankful to you for your presence in our country and we hope that Arab-Chinese relations will scale to new heights in all spheres in the days to come”. The Chinese delegation comprise of 29 members from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture as well as various Chinese universities.

While assuring to further strengthen the UAE-China cooperation in trade, commerce and cultural areas, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah said, “For centuries, the UAE has been enjoying friendly ties in all spheres with China and the country would strive to further cement Sino-Arab ties”.

In his inaugural speech, His Excellency Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs while praising the UAE-China relationship said: “We have friendly relations with China and it is not restricted to cultural side, but covers all fields. We believe that cultural and civilization dialogue is the way to build trust from all sides”. His Excellency further stated, “Today we, in the Arab world, look at the Chinese experiments in economic and social development sectors with utmost surprise. And we find these experiments study-worthy and take it with high regards. We invite you to work together to understand the current issues and future affairs, and exchange expertise and benefit each other from the findings”.

Young Fu Chang, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs in China who is heading the Chinese delegation said, “The bilateral trade between China and the UAE in the last year was about $25 billion and hoped that this will further jump up in the years to come. We are also striving to further strengthen the traditional and cultural ties between the UAE and other Arab nations”.
