(Abu Dhabi) – His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was also attended by H.E Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Authority, H.E Dr Mughair Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of Education Council and H.E Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Chief Executive of Masdar.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the UN chief to the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), 2012 and lauded the role played by UN agencies’ in the arena of renewable and clean energy projects.
Both the leaders also discussed the agenda of WFES and aspirations of the two sides for innovative resolutions to boost capacities and uses of energy through research and studies.
UN chief also commended the efforts of Masdar City and UAE’s initiatives on renewable and clean energy. He said, “By launching these pioneering projects, the UAE is providing a living example and delivering a valuable message to others at the region and beyond; UAE should be proud of these achievements”.
