(Fujairah) – Khalifa Khamis Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, FCCI, discussed with Jerusalem Amdimarim Tadisi, Consul-General of Ethiopia in Dubai, ways of reinforcing the economic cooperation between Fujairah and Ethiopia.
During the meeting, both sides discussed their coordination in promoting cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, as well as exchanging information about available investment opportunities and establishing joint investment projects.
Al Kaabi welcomed Tadisi on her appointment as her country’s Consul-General in the UAE while wishing her luck in her duties. He also highlighted the chamber’s readiness to cooperate with the consulate in assisting Ethiopian businesses who want to invest in Fujairah, in cooperation with specialist local authorities.
Al Kaabi urged Tadisi to encourage Ethiopian businessmen to benefit from the investment opportunities in Fujairah in the areas of industry, trade, tourism and logistical services, as well as from its excellent geographic location on the Strait of Hormuz and as a port for commercial ships between the East and West.
Both sides agreed to organise a joint meeting between business owners from Fujairah and Ethiopia, with the coordination between the chamber and the consulate, to exchange information about investment opportunities and visits, which will strengthen their commercial and economic cooperation.
Tadisi thanked the FCCI for its ongoing cooperation with the consulate and its efforts to support and strengthen the solid relations between the UAE and Ethiopia while affirming that her country is working to overcome its obstacles to expanding to foreign and Emirati markets.
She also welcomed the chamber’s suggestion to exchange visits and the coordination between the chamber and the consulate in organising a meeting between business owners from Fujairah and Ethiopia, to create economic and trade partnerships.
The meeting was attended by several officials from both sides.
