Chinese Premier meets Saudi King

Wen Jiabao with Saudi Arabian King(Riyadh) – Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah welcomed visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at the Royal Palace in Riyadh.

During the meeting, both the leaders discussed the ways to promote Saudi Arabia-China bilateral ties under the strategic framework and the regional and international developments.

Chinese Premier hailed the significant role played by Saudi Arabia in the regional and international affairs. He said that China respects Saudi Arabia’s political system and culture, and is willing to develop a comprehensive partnership with Saudi Arabia. He expressed China’s keenness to expand cooperation with Saudi Arabia in trade, investment, infrastructure, and finance.

King Abdullah praised China’s friendly policy toward Saudi Arabia, and stressed the importance of his country’s friendship with China. He proposed the establishment of a high-level commission between the two countries, in order to supervise cooperation on political, cultural, economic, and security fields.

After the meeting, the two leaders attended a signing ceremony for a number of bilateral agreements.
