(Abu Dhabi) – H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Wen Jiabao on arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, other Sheikhs and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
National anthems of the UAE and China were played as a 21-gun salute greeted the distinguished guest. Sheikh Mohammed and Wen Jiabao inspected the guard of honor. Sheikh Mohammed wished the visiting Chinese premier a successful visit that adds new momentum to the mutual relations between the two countries.
The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan also welcomed the visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao at Al Mushrif Palace. During the meeting, both the leaders held bilateral talks and expressed their determination to solve regional and international problems based on respect for international laws and interests of all countries.
President Khalifa said, “We are looking forward that Mr Jiabao’s trip to the UAE will constitute an advanced step towards greater cooperation and further enhancement of economic partnership between the two friendly countries. He added that “The UAE has the sincere desire to bolster its relations of cooperation with China in pursuit of more progress and development in both countries and further stability in world economy.”
Chinese Premier also lauded the stellar progress the UAE is witnessing under the leadership of President Khalifa. He hailed the UAE-China cooperation as an example of international collaboration and said, “We aspire for stronger one in the coming period”.
