(Abu Dhabi) – H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the UAE, and Robert Kalinak, Minister of Interior of Slovakia, have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) promoting security cooperation and mutually recognising drivers’ licenses issued by the two countries.
H.H. Sheikh Saif said the top leaders of the UAE are keen on promoting cooperation with Slovakia for the good of the two friendly countries and their peoples.
He commended the UAE-Slovakian relations which are backed by the leaders of both countries and their existing cooperation in various domains, particularly police and security.
The first MoU provides for cooperation on combating all forms of crime, including terrorism-related crimes, organised crime and money laundering, and on training, exchange of information, expertise, best practices, civil defence, joint meetings and consultations.
The second MoU provides for mutual recognition of driver’s licenses issued by the two countries. Accordingly, holders of the UAE and Slovakian driver’s licenses can use them in both counties without having to pass new theory or practice tests.
