Sheikh Mohammed seeks better data collation

Sheikh Mohammed seeks better data collation(Dubai) – The Dubai Statistics Centre and the local departments have been asked by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to work closely for the collation of online data on economic, demographic, social and healthcare trends in Dubai. During a visit to the centre on Tuesday, he launched a strategic plan for 2012-2015.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. He listened to a presentation by the statistics centre’s Chief Executive Officer Arif Al Mehairi on the outstanding achievements of the centre since its inception in 2006. Al Mehairi highlighted the role of the centre as the official statistics body authorised to collect and analyse statistical data and information in Dubai. It is also tasked with performing population and housing studies and economic surveys.
