
(Dubai) – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai received a Chinese delegation from the City of Chengdu, in China’s Wenjiang district at Zabeel Palace. The meeting was held in attendance of Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Sheikh Mohammed and his guests discussed cooperation and bilateral relations between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China in general and Dubai and the Wenjiang district in particular in relation to equine sports breeding and training. Head of the Chinese delegation expressed the Wenjiang district’s wish to implement the bilateral agreement reached between Meydan and the city of Chengdu concerning the establishment of an international horse race track at the city and the mutual investment in this regard.
Deputy Minister of Chengdu praised Dubai’s experience for it is very much a part of the equestrian scene, considering the Emirate an exemplary China can follow suite so as to develop and encourage equine sport and racing. For his part, Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that the UAE, in its investments and accomplishments, have always sought to be number one internationally.
