Sheikh Abdullah attends Friend of Syria Meeting

(Amman) – Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in the meeting of the ‘Friends of Syria’ group held in Amman. The meeting was convened to discuss current situation in Syria after the Syrian army regained large part of the strategic city of Al Qussair and after a call by Qatar to held an emergency meeting of the Arab League to discuss means of increasing assistance to the Syrian opposition.
Also discussed were preparations and coordination ahead of the second meeting on Syria, scheduled in Geneva next June. The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, USA, UK, France, Turkey, Germany and Italy.
