(Dubai) – HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, has maintained his momentum in triathlon championships by winning sixth overall and second in his category in the Dubai International Triathlon Championship which was held in UAE.

Accommodating 1400 participants from across the globe, this prestigious event featured three competitions; a 1.5km swimming race, an 80km cycling race and a 10km running race. HH Shaikh Nasser posted an impressive time of 03:08:25 hours, which proves HH’s high readiness for the upcoming IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain. At the end of the race, HH Shaikh Nasser was honoured by members of the Organising Committee for his achievement, and they congratulated him.

Extraordinary achievement after enormous efforts

Commenting after the race, HH Shaikh Nasser said: “I am very happy to achieve this positive result in this international championship, which featured a pool of professional and amateur players. There are several factors contributed to this achievement, including the support and backing of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HM’s continuous follow-up to my preparations prior the Championship, which fueled me with enthusiasm.

“Achieving sixth place overall and second place in my category is a very wonderful result and calls for optimism in the upcoming races after I was able to reach the desired physical and technical readiness.” HH further added: “The participation in this international championship is of great importance due to the presence of many pioneering athletes in it. I was very determined to achieve a good result and to finish in the shortest time. I tried to spread my efforts throughout the event, and I succeeded in this following my preparations in Bahrain.” HH Shaikh Nasser revealed that he lost two minutes in the swimming race, but managed to recover ground in the cycling race.

Gold Medal Pledge in Bahrain

HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that his looking forward to winning gold medal in the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain. “After this achievement, I feel am ready for the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain. I only wait from Bahraini fans to side by me so I can win gold medal,” HH Shaikh Nasser added. Moreover, HH Shaikh Nasser praised the results of the members of the Bahrain Triathlon Team who participated in the race.
