(Jeddah) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was profoundly shocked to learn the unprecedented terrorist attack in Bangladeshi Capital Dhaka on 1st July 2016 evening.
The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani condemned, in the strongest term, the terrorist attack that targeted innocent people in a restaurant in the diplomatic zone Dhaka, Bangladesh, killing 20 people, mostly foreigners, and injured others.
He affirmed OIC full solidarity and support to Bangladesh in these critical and painful circumstances and extended sincerest condolences to the Government of the people of Bangladesh, as well the bereaved families, wishing the wounded quick recovery.
Madani reiterated OIC firm stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He urged concerted collective international efforts to defeat this menace against humanity, stressing the need to root extremism, violence and terrorism in a comprehensive approach taking into account the political, economic, and social contexts.
