Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council member and ruler of Umm al-Qaiwain. More than 100 countries are taking part in the NAM summit.
The summit opened with an inaugural speech by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He said, “We have gathered here today to inject a new life and stimulus into the Non-Aligned Movement”, adding that “Nuclear weapons do not guarantee security nor consolidate political power, but pose a threat to both things. The use of nuclear and chemical weapons is dangerous and unforgivable mistake. We had launched the logo of Middle East free from the Nuclear Weapons and still stick to it”, indicating that we are aspiring for the peaceful nuclear energy, which is a right for all countries in accordance with the international laws.
