(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, the Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan, at the Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH Premier welcomed the Turkish President’s visit to his second country, Bahrain, affirming the kingdom’s pride in the visit of a great Islamic leader and president of a strategic ally, whose stances towards Bahrain and its people will never be forgotten.

HRH Premier asserted that the visit will boost the long-standing bilateral relations further, and open up new horizons of joint cooperation in various fields.

He highlighted the distinguished position enjoyed by brotherly Turkey among Arabs and Muslims throughout history, given its status as an exemplary advanced Islamic country, noting that the historical and cultural bonds between the two countries pave the way for bolstering bilateral relations in all fields.

HRH the Prime Minister lauded Turkey’s experience which he described as a role model to be emulated as it blends modernity, traditions and heritage, stressing that Turkey is a role model for moderate Islam.

The Prime Minister underscored the importance of the visit of the Turkish President in boosting cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Turkey.

HRH Premier hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Turkish President, in the presence of HRH the Crown Prince.

Royal Family members, senior state officials and GCC ambassador to Bahrain attended.
