(Manama) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at Qudaibiya Palace received National Audit Office (NAO)’s President Hassan Khalifa Al-Jalahma, who submitted the 13th NAO Report for the 2015-2016 fiscal year under Article 19 of the NAO’s law.

HRH Prime Minister praised the NAO’s dedicated efforts in assisting the government in the protection of public money spending from extravagance. He pointed out the government’s strategies adopted to tighten control on public money spending.

HRH Prime Minister hailed the dedicated efforts of the NAO President and staff, commending their performance and strenuous progress in protecting public money and attaining the highest degrees of credibility and transparency.

NAO’s President lauded the Premier’s directives that have led to correcting irregularities and the implementation of NAO’s remarks related to ministries and government agencies.

He affirmed the NAO will continue its cooperation with the government in line with the two sides’ commitment to ensuring national interests and achieving common national goals.

He commended the Premier’s interest in following up on the implementation of NAO’s remarks, noting that the government’s commitment to implementing NAO’s recommendations will contribute to enhancing its performance.

He praised the cooperation of ministers and heads of government departments with NAO, which, he said, has enable it to assume the duties assigned to it in the best way.

He also said HRH Premier’s praise of NAO’s role in improving the government’s performance and promoting the values of transparency, fairness and preservation of public money.
