(Manama) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the third edition of Bahrain Falcon and Hunting tournament being held in Al-Sabkha area, near Bahrain International Endurance Village.

The tournament, held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, will continue until mid-February.

HM the King was welcomed upon arrival by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of West Asian Nations Athletics, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Environment, President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation.

HH Shaikh Nasser gave a brief on the tournament that comprises Arabian horse racings, falcon and Saluki hunting competitions.

HM the King met the participants at the tournament and wished them success. He praised the competitions aimed at maintaining the genuine Bahraini heritage and heritage sports.

HM the King highlighted the role of HH Shaikh Nasser in reviving and preserving the national heritage, and his efforts in promoting various heritage games and encouraging the Bahraini youth to participate in them.

HM the King also pointed out HH Shaikh Nasser’s efforts in leading the youth and sport movement in the interest of the homeland and Bahraini youth. and commended the tireless efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid in supporting various heritage sports.
HM the King noted the wide participation of GCC falcon owners in the tournament and their keenness to support the competitions.

HH Shaikh Nasser expressed utmost appreciation of HM the King’s interest in attending the tournament, which reflects the royal keenness on preserving the national heritage.

He vowed to continue working with enthusiasm and determination to preserve the heritage sports and pass them on to the next generation.
