FM partakes in GCC FMs meeting in Jeddah
(Jeddah) – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, took part in the meeting of the GCC foreign ministers. The ministers expressed their appreciation to the efforts made by the committees tasked with implementing the Riyadh Agreement. They issued a statement at the end of the meeting, which highlighted the latest developments in the region emphasizing the need to rally efforts to the stop blood shed, combat extremist and terrorist movements in order to boost regional security and stability.
The ministers praised the speech made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia last Friday and his call for confronting terrorism and his warning of sedition. They voiced condemnation of the aggression and war crimes that are being committed by the Israeli forces in Gaza and rejected all justifications made by Israel.
They also renewed their firm stand by the brotherly people of Palestine and the Palestinian Authority and commended the vital role played by Egypt to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and to arrive at a lasting peace that ends the humanitarian plight and enhances security and stability there.
