Bahrain-US relations, latest developments discussed

(Manama) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has received Ronald Neumann, President of the American Academy of Diplomacy, board member of the Middle East Policy Council and former US ambassador to Bahrain.
Shaikh Khalid lauded the special efforts exerted by Ambassador Neumann to boost relations between Bahrain and the US and his keenness on communicating and consulting steadily with Bahrain over several issues, wishing him further success.
The minister expressed Bahrain’s appreciation of its strategic alliance with the US and stressed keen interest in broadening cooperation on all levels to boost shared interests and meet the aspirations of both friendly countries.
Neumann said he was pleased to visit Bahrain and meet Shaikh Khalid, recalling with pride his tenure as ambassador of the US to the kingdom and the support he was given throughout it. He wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
The meeting reviewed issues of shared interest and the latest regional and international developments.
