(Marrakech) – President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the opening of Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech held under the patronage of Moroccan monarch His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Salma and attended by renowned diplomatic, cultural and media figures from around the world.
Shaikha Mai praised the museum describing it as an artistic edifice showcasing the artistic history of one of the most important international fashion designers, Yves Saint Laurent, who visited Morocco and got inspired by the breath-taking beauty of its natural scenery.
On the significance of setting up the museum, Shaikha Mai said that the cultural infrastructure projects are not the responsibility of the government and the public sector but the responsibility of all social components seeking to create a civilisational momentum.
