ASEAN Summit Opens in Phnom Penh

ASEAN Summit Opens in Phnom Penh(Phnom Penh) – The annual Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit has openened in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh, with leaders of the 10-nation ASEAN bloc expected to talk about the issue of China’s territorial claims in the South China Sea.
During the meeting, Southeast Asian leaders will also focus on territorial disputes, a declaration on human rights, economic cooperation and deadly ethnic unrest in Burma. U.S. President Barack Obama will also join ASEAN leaders meetings later. President Obama is expected to raise concerns about long-standing human-rights problems and also to urge Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to hold free and fair elections and end land seizures.
